Uncle Sam says “I want you” to celebrate American history with Stages Productions musical revue, “Let Freedom Sing!” This high-energy firecracker explodes with knowledge about our great nation; from her birth in 1776, through the dark days of the Civil War and right into the present day. Filled with colorful songs and characters like Betsy Ross, Abraham Lincoln and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. this multi-media event will rekindle your appreciation for our homeland’s past and leave you proud to be an American.

Rapunzel – Tuesday January 14th at 11:00am

Rapunzel is an enticing classic complete with the long-haired beauty, Prince Charming and the evil witch. Rapunzel’s parents, starving and destitute, make a pact with a nearby witch to give her their first born child in exchange for food. Exiled to a lonely tower, only the witch may visit Rapunzel by climbing up her beautiful, long hair. This seriously funny tale shows how a possessive mother, a tentative prince, and a naive young girl all grow up in a surprising way.

Jack’s music is research-based, and teacher-approved to focus on helping children learn important state, national and early childhood standards. All of Jack’s songs and videos engage children with not only great educational content, but with cool beats kids love and fun movements.

Finding North: A Celebration of Black History – Friday February 21st at 11:00am

This one-man play brings to life the powerful stories of the strivings, sacrifices and dreams of John P. Parker, a former enslaved man who
dedicated his life to helping other enslaved people escape through the Underground Railroad. Drawn from historical research, Parker’s tale is
woven together with live music and interviews from contemporary immigrants who tell their stories of searching for haven in modern-day
America. Written by David Gonzalez, performed by Daniel Carlton, this production is both an exploration and celebration of the continuing
quest for justice and freedom in America.

 

For Middle and High School aged students only – This performance includes discussion of sensitive themes including slavery and racism, as well as descriptions of violence.
